Funding details
Alchemy Charge has received $2 million from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) under the government agency's Driving the Nation Program. The funding announcement was made on 28 October 2026.
Apartment charging platform
Founded in 2023 by Chief Executive Officer Yasemin Selvi and Chief Technology Officer Merich Selvi, Sydney-based Alchemy Charge builds EV charging solutions tailored for apartment residents, landlords, and building managers.
The company has created the $7.4 million Strata Assist program. The initiative combines a digital platform scheduled to launch on 1 February next year with SmartPoint charging infrastructure. SmartPoints are individually metered power sockets backed by cloud-based load management to control charging demand within a building's electrical capacity.
The platform aims to streamline the approval process by connecting residents, landlords, strata managers, and owners corporations. It handles information sharing, quotes, approvals, installation tracking, and compliance to reduce administrative delays.
Expansion and partnerships
Alchemy Charge will use the fresh capital to expand its apartment EV charging capabilities and support the rollout of its Strata Assist program and SmartPoint infrastructure.
The company is collaborating with several industry partners on the program. Origin Energy will operate the charging points at participating properties, integrating SmartPoints and supported Level 2 chargers with its Origin 360 EV Charge Platform. Climate Salad and NHP are also listed as program partners.
Findings from the program regarding charging costs, strata governance barriers, and installation approaches will be shared publicly to inform building managers, installers, operators, and policymakers.
