Funding details
London-based Marrow announced on 26 October 2026 that it raised $2m in a pre-seed funding round.
Insurtech Gateway led the round. Seed X, Leo Capital, Portfolio Ventures, and angel investors also participated in the investment.
Connecting AI assistants to insurance systems
Marrow builds software infrastructure that provides a common framework and API layer so insurance providers can make pricing, underwriting, and policy administration systems available to AI agents under specific rules.
The startup acts as a single connection point for insurers. Agents from different AI assistants can access products through one protocol without requiring modifications to core insurance systems. The platform manages the transaction process, setting rules for permitted questions, responses, required disclosures, and record retention.
Marrow does not generate customer demand or recommend specific insurance products.
Expansion plans and standards development
Marrow will use the capital to expand its team with new hires in London, bring additional insurance providers onto its platform, and support onboarding across retail and commercial insurance lines.
The funds will also advance the development of its AMI Standards. Released in September, the AMI Standards offer an open, machine-readable framework to define how AI agents request, compare, disclose, and bind regulated policies. Insurers and brokers are evaluating the framework across five product lines, with feedback open until 13 November.
Traction and leadership
Marrow has been live with insurer Aviva since March 2026 following legal, data protection, information security, and procurement reviews. Other brokers, insurers, and managing general agents have also signed up.
The company was founded by chief executive officer Tim Graham, previously head of product at Ki, and Adam Mesout, a qualified actuary and former founding engineer at Ki.
