The funding round
Copy Geek announced its $2 million pre-seed round on 29 October 2026. The investment was led by Dr David Issa and Thomas Boga on behalf of a consortium of Sydney-based private investors. A valuation was not disclosed.
The company plans to use the capital to fund product development, recruit engineers and expand its partnerships with cryptocurrency exchanges.
What Copy Geek does
Founded in Sydney, Australia, Copy Geek builds copy-trading software for professional traders in the fintech and crypto sectors. Its non-custodial engine connects directly to cryptocurrency exchanges' existing accounts, order books and software interfaces without requiring exchanges to build or host additional infrastructure.
The technology syncs fills and executions across exchanges so that followers automatically replicate a trader's trading results rather than just their order placements. Copied trades are placed and settled on the specific exchange where the follower holds their account.
Copy Geek offers its platform to help exchanges attract funded traders, boost trading volumes and lower customer acquisition costs. The software is live on Bitfinex, WhiteBIT, Bybit and Hyperliquid.
Team and background
Bitfinex trader Chris Ji founded Copy Geek in June 2026. Ji stated that the engine focuses on keeping followers' positions in sync with the traders they copy by tracking every fill and execution.
The company's team includes technology adviser Adrian Tadros, who brings over two decades of experience across financial institutions, consulting firms and cloud providers. Investor Dr David Issa, a medical professional, said the private consortium backed the company due to its combination of trading expertise and user-centric infrastructure.
